What are the common causes of AC not Cooling?
Air conditioning is the process by which air is cooled and dehumidified. Basically, air conditioning systems operate on the principles of evaporation and condensation. If your air conditioner is turning on but you’re not receiving an adequate amount of cool air then there is something wrong with your AC. These are the common issues due to which your AC is not working properly:
Compressor: An air compressor is a specific type of gas compressor. In many systems, a compressor failure can occur after a very small amount of oil has leaked out. When installing a replacement compressor, remember that improper compressor mounting torque can contribute to leaks and/or noise. The compressor clutch is another common point of failure, as it operates in quite tight tolerances. You can avoid problems by getting a regular inspection by a technician from Facilitykart and practice good maintenance procedures such as checking compressor support pads.
Sensor issues: The thermostat is the part of the AC that controls the temperature of the air being pumped into your rooms. When the sensor isn’t operating properly, the AC can encounter a variety of problems including constant cycling. For best results, position the sensor so it’s near the evaporator coil but not touching it.
Evaporator: The evaporator coil cools and dehumidifies the air by converting liquid refrigerant into a gas, which absorbs the heat from the air. The warmed refrigerant is then carried through a tube to the outdoor unit (condenser coil). If the airflow gets too low, however, the evaporator coil may freeze. This makes performance worse and can damage the compressor.
Refrigerant: The refrigerant in the air-conditioning system must have a low boiling point and must also be able to change its state in a continuous cycle of vaporization and condensation. If the refrigerant charge on the system leaks out, it lowers the capacity of the system. You will simply get less cooling and system will not be able to keep up when the load gets high.
Blocked condenser: One of the key components that keep your cabin cool is the AC condenser. This little part looks and works a whole lot like the radiator. This positioning right behind the grille is important, because it is the job of the condenser to cool down Freon gas so it returns to liquid form. When the condenser is blocked, your air conditioner is not able to flow cool air to your room. In most cases, some dirt or dusts usually block the condenser. That is the reason why you need to clean your condenser at least once a month. This cleaning process is important to avoid any wreckage build up on the condenser.
